Understand that emotions, thoughts, beliefs can be conditioned through neuroplasticity

The good news is, with effort, you can change your behavior through #neuroplasticity. Just

as plastics can be molded and shaped, so too can the part of the brain that programs our

automatic behaviour. This can be done through the following conscious process:

1. Be aware of your natural automatic responses

2. Identify the causes or stimuli and your feelings towards them before reacting

3. Choose more desirable behavior, or the kind of behavior you need to display (if your

default response does not serve you well)

4. Emphasize to yourself the benefit of this behavioral change

5. Imagine vividly how you will respond the next time you encounter the same stimulus

6. Verbalise and repeat your plan of attack, or even act out the response, each time

reminding yourself of the benefits of this change

7. Seek out ways to put this new behavior to action – and reward each time you see an

improvement

8. With enough practice or repetition, this new response will rewire your automatic

responses and can even retrain your muscle memory

“This method works, but be realistic and understand that it takes consistency and practice.”

You must have a strong desire for change, be willing to step out of your comfort zone, and

commit to your own transformation. Stepping out of your comfort zone will set you on the

path to breaking free of your fears. Your confidence will grow once you see that you’ve

managed to overcome or surpass your limitations.
