Use your wants and desires to anchor positive ways to achieve greater purpose

#Desire can be a powerful motivator for action, but you have to materialize it as concretely as possible from the world of the abstract.

Imagine an aspiration. Now think of specific wants and desires associated with that aspiration. Define realistic and measurable goals that would help you fulfill those wants and desires.

Now, picture vivid images of you working towards those goals, fulfilling those wants and desires, and achieving that aspiration. Try and make those images as vivid and multisensory as you can. Close your eyes and really visualise it. Visualise the sight, sound, touch, feel, smell, taste. Lock that in and use it to motivate yourself. Frequently remind yourself of that vision as much as you can.

Achieving a goal is the culmination of a long term focused effort. It has to be realistic. It has to be achievable. You have to be hungry for it. You have to be committed. And you have to follow through consistently. Think of an olympic gold medallist. That final crowning achievement of having the gold medal placed around their necks in front of the world is but a tiny speck when you think of the years of blood, sweat and tears off-camera that went into the preparation, training and self-development to get there.
