Be kind to yourself as the foundation for embracing a new future

Let’s recap. Developing a stronger #foundation for yourself requires you to acknowledge what makes you, you.

Do you know who you are?

Can you accept the good, the bad, and the ugly about yourself?

Can you let the negative voices flow off you like water off a duck’s back, even when those voices come from your own self-judgment?

Can you appreciate what makes you beautiful inside, love yourself, and own your actions?

Can you free yourself from limitations that do not serve you, whether internal or external?

Can you simply say to yourself:

I am what I am. I love myself as I am. I am at my best simply being the way I am.

We can’t always predict or control what will happen to us on our journey through life. But, we can more easily predict and control how we take that journey, and it is within our power to make it either more or less pleasant for ourselves. It just requires a bit more conscious thought, mindful living, and awareness of ourselves and the world around us.

First off though, you need to make sure you have a positive relationship with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself. Take care of yourself. If you can’t love yourself, how can you love anyone else? If you want to be accepted, liked or appreciated by your peers, you have to be able to do the same first to yourself.
