Learn from the past but don’t repeat it — tomorrow is a new day

Self-compassion and self-acceptance is about being kind to yourself. Look for a mirror. Can you tell yourself:
I love you.
I accept you.
Can you do it easily? If not, maybe you’re holding on to some guilt. Learn to forgive yourself for the past. Your past is only history — a series of past events, a story based on your perspective.
It happened.
Don’t keep beating yourself up for things you may have done in the past. You may have done those things through lack of awareness, through innate hardwired impulses, through acting on your needs and wants at the time. But it doesn’t have to continue.
