Learn to be present in your thoughts, actions and life




It’s quite common to go about our daily lives on auto-pilot, without much conscious or critical thought. The routines and minutiae of day to day living can wear us down.


This inattentiveness to being present can lock in the unthinking auto-pilot mode. This is like daydreaming or being zoned out. This will lead to patterns of thoughts and behaviour that are formed without awareness, conscious intention, or focus. Think about the situation of dealing with an aggressive salesperson. It can be in a shop, on the street, or at a gym. They will naturally have razor focus and a specific goal in getting you to purchase or sign up for something.


If you aren’t present in the moment, if you aren’t attentive, it is easy to involuntarily agree and/or make hasty decisions that you will later on regret.
