What do you stand for? (Character archetypes)

Through the journey of life, we have the option to grow to become stronger and more grounded. We can choose to become more resilient, more flexible and more accommodating to anything life has to throw at you.
How do you become more empowered?
As a foundation, by this stage you should already be aware of your strengths and values. With that in mind, you need to know and identify the ground rules and boundaries on how you want to conduct your life.
Taken together, these motivations and behaviours can be defined as a persona, by adopting an #archetype. An archetype is a universal character (many are familiar in literature) that reflects fundamental human motifs of life and experiences, and which reside within the collective unconscious of humans. Simply put, many people act in ways or have certain motivations or behaviours that fit a pattern, and that pattern can be applied to other people who also have the same persona.
There are many numerous character archetypes, and various ways to define them. However, as a starting point for your understanding of them, psychologist Carl Jung identified 12 primary archetypes:
● The innocent
● The orphan
● The hero
● The caregiver
● The explorer
● The rebel
● The lover
● The creator
● The jester
● The sage
● The magician
● The ruler
The benefit to adopting an archetype is to enhance and strengthen our behavior so that we are play to our strengths and values to the greatest effect.
We need to be conscious of what we do in various situations. A good way is to reflect on ourselves and see the possibilities and the roles we can play with each character archetype and use it to empower who we are and who we can be.
